Free online calls: common questions
How long is the free call?
Up to 59 seconds, once per account, on any route that costs $0.025 a minute or less. The rate table on this page marks the routes that qualify. Longer calls and pricier routes use credits.
Is there a completely free way to call a landline online?
From the US, Google Voice calls US and Canadian landlines free. Outside that, we haven't found a service that does it without ads or a cap on call length. If one claims to, look for the time limit.
Can I make a free online phone call with no sign-up?
Between two people on the same app, yes. To a real phone number, the minutes cost money, so any service that pays for them properly asks you to sign in. CallSpark takes an email address or a Google account. No phone number, and no card for the free call.
Is Wi-Fi calling free?
Not by itself. Wi-Fi calling on your phone is billed by your carrier as a normal call, so an international call costs your plan's international rate. CallSpark also runs over Wi-Fi, but you pay CallSpark's per-minute rate instead of your carrier's.
How do I make a free call via the internet to a mobile?
If the mobile's owner has WhatsApp or another calling app, call them there. If not, type their number with the country code into the box at the top of this page and press Call. Your first call is free.
Does the person I'm calling need an app or internet?
No. They answer on their normal phone, the same way they'd answer any other call.
Do CallSpark credits expire?
No. Credits stay on your account until you use them, whether that's next week or next year.
